Only type example passwords here, never a real one you actually use — even on a page like this.
Type something to begin
- Not yet At least 8 characters
- Not yet Uses UPPER and lower case letters
- Not yet Includes a number
- Not yet Includes a symbol (like ! @ # &)
- Not yet Isn’t a common/easy-to-guess password
Why this matters
- Longer passwords are much harder for a computer to guess than complicated short ones.
- Mixing letters, numbers and symbols multiplies the number of guesses an attacker needs to try.
- Common passwords (like “password” or “123456”) are tried first by attackers — avoid them completely.
- A random string of unrelated words (like “correcthorsebatterystaple”) can be both strong and easy for you to remember.
Three levels to test what you know. Only use example passwords here, never a real one.
Level 1: Is it strong?
Look at the password, then choose Strong, Okay or Weak. Use Next password to try another.
Level 2: Build a strong password
Make up a strong example password for a school account, then check it.
Level 3: Password quiz
Which of these is the strongest password?
