1 Quick recap
t.forward()/t.right()draw shapes.t.circle(radius)draws a circle.t.penup()/t.pendown()move the turtle without drawing.
Today: use penup()/pendown() to put more than one shape in the same picture.
2 Draw a square
A house starts with a square. You already know how to draw one — write it yourself below.
Hint:
A square has 4 sides.
Every corner turns 90°.

Copy the two lines above 3 more times:
t.forward(100) t.right(90)
3 Add a triangle roof
Here’s a finished square. The turtle finishes back where it started, facing the same way — perfect to draw the roof straight away, no moving needed.
A triangle has 3 sides — turn 120° at each corner, just like Lesson 2.
But this time, turn left instead of right, so the roof points up instead of into the square.
Still stuck? Tap here
Try:
t.forward(100) t.left(120) t.forward(100) t.left(120) t.forward(100)
4 Draw a square, again
A robot body is also a square. Write it yourself — no help this time.
Stuck? Tap here
Look back at how you built the square in the last house step.
5 Add a circle head
Here’s a finished square body, already moved into place. Add a circle on top for the head.
What command draws a circle in one line?
6 Now you try: a rocket
A triangle nose, a square body, a small circle window. Fill in each shape below.
Hint:
Use your triangle, square and circle code from before.
t.penup() before moving, t.pendown() before drawing again.
7 Free choice: design your own picture
Use squares, triangles and circles to design any picture you like — a snowman, a face, a pattern, anything you want.
What you learned in this lesson
- bigger pictures are built by drawing one shape, then moving, then drawing the next
t.penup()lifts the pen so moving the turtle doesn’t draw a linet.pendown()puts the pen back down so the turtle draws again- squares, triangles and circles can be combined into houses, robots, rockets and more
