A simple rule of thumb
- Things like your favourite colour or hobby say nothing about who you are or where to find you — usually fine to share.
- Anything that could help a stranger find you, contact you, or get into your accounts (address, phone number, passwords, exact location, birth date) should stay private.
- When unsure, ask: “could this help a stranger find or trick me?” If yes, keep it private.
